Set in the heart of Ocean City, New Jersey, The Chatterbox was founded in 1937 by the original owner, Jean Campbell. A true trailblazer and entrepreneur, Campbell dared to open the now iconic 'pink' restaurant during the tail-end of the Great Depression.
Since acquiring the restaurant, we have made the decision to continue with Jean Campbell's moxie and pay homage to the classic American style restaurant featuring excellent, healthy and locally sourced dishes. The menu consists of timeless favorites like homemade meatball hoagies, fish and chips, juicy burgers and lobster rolls. The Hanger Steak, Pork Cutlet and Maryland Crab cakes speak to our shared love of elevated entrees and the original menu of the 1930's 'steak and potato' establishment. Pull up a seat at our Central Creamery and share the love of nostalgia with a root beer float, milkshake or sundae, made with our house made ice cream. The Chatterbox aims to serve not only incredibly tasty dishes, but also family memories and fun!
